In December, the HS National Honor Society had an opportunity to visit the George Bush Library and Museum at SMU. This is always a great trip and a chance for the students to learn about 9-11, the office of the president, and some important moments in our country's history.

Itasca HS was represented extremely well at the UIL State Congressional Debate tournament on January 10 - 11. Kathy Virrueta and Madi Middleton did an excellent job debating legislation in incredibly competitive chambers; as you would expect at the State level. Wesley Stinemetze and Joseph Gurrusquieta are amazing speechwriters and aided in the preparation of the State meet. They attended the State meet as alternates in support of Kathy and Madi, helping with last-minute preparations, and to gain valuable knowledge. I am very proud of my team and the fantastic job they did representing our district.
