Parents and Guardians, next Monday (5/15/23) IHS will be having our awards and recognition ceremony starting at 8:45 am in the SEC. Students being recognized will receive a letter this week. We hope you can attend and celebrate along with your recognized student. GenTX decision recognition for seniors will follow the awards ceremony.

Parents of high athletes, there is an athletic banquet scheduled for May 17 at 6 pm. we will have a catered BBQ meal for the kids and coaches. If you would like to participate in the meal it is $15 for each person and I need a head count by the 10th. The kids were told last week to get a head count of parents or family members attending. Parents of High School Athletes and band members. On May 17, a doctor will come to the SEC to complete all physicals for incoming 7th, 9th, and 11th graders. Each athlete has been given the necessary forms for this. The cost is $30. Please have your child come with cash and filled out forms that day to complete their physical. Please take advantage of them coming here and let's not wait till the last minute. Thank you!

Itasca ISD has selected a new Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

The Itasca FFA 3rd Annual Banquet is only 2 weeks away. On May 19th at 6 pm in the SEC we hope to see all FFA members and their families to celebrate and recognize all of this year's accomplishments. We need you to all RSVP by Monday, May 8th so that we can plan our meal. If you do not RSVP by this date then you will not be able to participate in the meal. Dakota has so graciously volunteered ground beef from her steer to support a taco dinner if everyone can sign up to bring ingredients and sides to support that! Itasca ISD buses are being loaded and will be leaving to drop off children at 3:30 pm.

Due to weather Itasca will not be hosting the softball playoffs this evening. However, the regional track meet in Springtown is under way and continuing as planned.

To further clarify the early release this afternoon. Bus rider's parents are welcome to pick their children up at the 2 pm release if that is preferred versus waiting for the delayed buses. Buses are being delayed until after the storm to ensure our children and buses are not out in the worst part of the storm. Also, we do not want any children being dropped off by a bus early when no parents are home to receive them.

Due to the timing of the severe weather this evening, Itasca ISD will dismiss all students at 2 pm. Buses will run after the storm clears due to many parents not being home to accept their children after they get off the bus at 2 pm.

REMINDER: Tomorrow 4/28/23 is Spring Picture Day! We will be taking Spring Individuals and Class Photos for PK-11th Grade! No senior (12th grade) pictures tomorrow! Order Your Yearbook! Evelyn Virrueta competed at the Regional Academic meet in Grayson College Friday, April 21 and placed 4th in News Writing. She will be representing Itasca at the State Academic meet on April 17th in Austin.
